Visa services paused at this embassy

This embassy has stopped all visa services, including immigrant visas, because of an Ebola outbreak. You cannot get an appointment here for now.

Details

Since May 18, 2026, the U.S. Embassies in Juba, Kinshasa and Kampala have paused all visa services, including immigrant visas, because of the Ebola outbreak. No appointments can be scheduled. The State Department says it will update its website when scheduling starts again.

Interview scheduling at Kampala

The State Department’s tool still shows a month for Kampala. Do not rely on it. See “Visa services paused at this embassy” above.

The State Department sends immigrant visa applicants from Uganda to Nairobi, not Kampala.

Details

Its list of embassies and consulates for immigrant visas names Nairobi. But its notice of July 15, 2026 names Kampala as a regional visa hub, so check the embassy’s own website (usembassy.gov).
