Lagos: IR4 visas issued

Immigrant visa: Orphan to be adopted in the United States by U.S. citizen

Visas issued, Mar 2025 – Feb 2026

none since Dec 2019

The State Department’s scheduling tool does not list adoption cases.

Visas issued show how busy the post is, not how long you will wait.

Most immigrant visa applicants at Lagos are citizens of Nigeria, and their immigrant visas are suspended. They can still get an interview, but may not get a visa. Dual nationals who apply with the passport of a country not covered are an exception.
