On February 23, 2026, the State Department ordered the non-emergency staff of the U.S. Embassy in Beirut to leave. Its notice of February 25, 2026, which is still posted, says that routine visa processing is not currently available at the embassy, which is giving priority to emergency services for U.S. citizens. Applicants who had an interview in Beirut are to be emailed a new, later date.

Since its April 2 update, the State Department's scheduling tool has given Beirut the same month for spouses, children and parents of U.S. citizens: February 2026. Check lb.usembassy.gov/visas for updates.
