Abuja: G2 visas issued

Nonimmigrant visa: Representative of foreign government to international organization, staff, or immediate family

Visa services moved elsewhere

Since August 1, 2026, you cannot apply here for most visas, including immigrant visas. Citizens and residents of this country now apply at another U.S. embassy or consulate that the State Department chooses.

Details

Since August 1, 2026, the State Department has moved routine visa services at this post, including immigrant visas, to regional hubs: embassies and consulates in Africa that handle visas for nearby countries. Citizens and residents of this country apply at the immigrant visa post that the State Department names for it.

Last checked Sep 25, 2026.

From Mar 2025 to Feb 2026, Abuja issued 374 G2 visas, about 31 a month, about the same as the 12 months before. But it issued only 17 in January and February 2026, against about 36 a month from March to December 2025.

This counts visas issued, which shows how busy the post is, not how long you will wait. The State Department data here ends in February 2026, so it cannot show what has changed since then, such as pauses that started or ended later.
